The sweetest, goodnatured and cheerful bird, which can be easily kept at home, is considered the amazon parrot. A man’s feathered friend belongs to the same name. There are about 30 varieties of parrots in total. Most often, Amazons live on the territory of Central and South America, as well as on the islands located in the Caribbean Sea. Parrots are considered average in size and size of birds and have good intellect.
Description of Amazons
Amazon parrots, like other representatives of the family, have a dense physique and bright green plumage. Birds grow in the range from 20 to 45 cm. Some individuals have unique spots on a blue or red shade. An unusual color is also observed on the tail and wings of the animal.
The distinctive features of the Amazon parrots are a tail of rounded shape and wings of moderate length. Birds have a strong, rounded beak, the upper part of the ridge of which passes into the rib. Parrots are very sociable and needing animals. With proper care, they are able to live up to 45 years.

Amazons parrots take first place among onomaters. Birds do not have excellent intelligence, like African birds, but brilliantly reproduce natural sounds, human speech, musical instruments and even loved melodies.
Amazon parrots amenable to train, even circus tricks can reproduce. If they are used to and attached to the owner, then this is “love” for life.
To date, about 30 types of Amazon parrots are distinguished. The most common of them are the following: whitewhite, rednozzle, yellowman, Yamaic black, royal (imperial), festive (luxurious).
In the wild, you can meet the amazon parrot in wet tropical forests, islands near the sea. They feed on multicolored birds with kidneys, flowers, fruits and sometimes grains. At home, Amazon parrots are recommended to be fed with herbs, vegetables, fresh berries; 30% of the diet should be grain mixtures. Among the main products recommended for birds, the following are distinguished: porridge on water, soaked dried fruits and legumes, crushed grain, buds and flowers of rosehips, dandelion, chamomile, juices and mashed potatoes from children’s food, viburnum, mountain ash, cranberries, sea buckthorn.
In the wild, parrots live in packs. During the marriage period, the groups are divided into pairs and retained in a secluded place (this can be hollow). In the selected nest, the female lays eggs from 2 to 5 pieces. So that no one can disturb the cubs, female individuals place nests high on the trees. The female hatches eggs for about a month, and the male provides it with food. After the chicks are born, they are in the nest for 7-9 weeks for 7-9 weeks.
At home, birds must be prepared for reproduction. So, long before the wedding period, the couple must be introduced to each other. The best time for the propagation of the Amazon parrots is January-February month. To create favorable conditions, it is necessary to place a bird lamp in a cage, feed animals regularly and be sure to give them a walk, namely: often fly. The mating process can last a whole day.
