One of the most amazing types of insects inhabiting our planet. The name “Panda” was received by the ant at the expense of its alternating black and white coloring, which has a resemblance to the pandas. Etymologists still have difficulties with determining the belonging of this remarkable insect. Ant-Panda belongs to the type of osino.

Appearance

Ant Panda is covered with hairs that have a velvety texture. For this reason, he was still nicknamed “velvety ants”. Sexual dimorphism is very pronounced, because of which the female and male can be taken for completely different types of insects. On the head of the anti-panda, there are antennae consisting of 13 segments.

Females have only 12 segments. The antennas of the ultrasound form a small bend. The eyes of males are much more pronounced, while females are reduced. On the abdomen of males there are 8 sternets and 7 tergites. The females have only 6 segments in the abdominal department. In the second section you can notice small grooves.

The males have a noticeable seam on the chest. The feminine individuals have a special stipulating organ that serves to attract males. During his friction, a characteristic sound makes a character that the male can identify the whereabouts of the female. Another cardinal difference between the sexes is the absence of the wings in females.

Insects are painted black with bright orange, red, yellow or white stripes. There is white hair on the head. Endowed with extremely long and sharp sting.

Habitat

Ant Panda spread in the regions of Latin America, and also occurs in the central region of Chile. Now more and more of these insects have become widespread in Argentina, the USA and Mexico.

Prefers an ant Pandy settles in open and desert places in which a hot and dry climate prevails.

Food

Reproduction

It is literally impossible to get rid of these invaders, since they are endowed with a very sharp sting that cannot be compared with other membranes.

The poisonousness of ants-panda

Ant Pugs are endowed with extremely dangerous and strong toxin, which can even kill a cow through a couple of bites. Because of this, local residents nicknamed the ants-panda also “killer of cows”. In addition to cows, the bite of this insect can seriously come to a person. Book pain can last a couple of hours.
