Unique edible mushroom, which belongs to the flyomor family. Caesar mushroom (Amanita Caesarea) has a lot of beneficial properties and is actively used in cooking. Since ancient times, this mushroom adorned royal tables. The name of the species leads to the titles of the rulers of the Roman Empire.

Appearance

Caesar mushroom has an unusual shape with a bright hat. The hat of the Caesar mushroom itself reaches 8 to 20 centimeters in diameter. Young mushrooms have an eggshaped hat, which is aligned with age. The hat is covered with a yellow or red skin without mucus and spots. The old Caesar mushroom is endowed with a yellowish body sometimes with large remnants of the ring at the base called a bedspread. It has a white color and resembles an egg shell. Hat pulp has a juicy structure of yellowish color. The leg of almost pure white color, which reaches up to 12 centimeters in height with a diameter of up to 3 centimeters. The base of this fungus has the form of a yellow tuber, and the area above the ring is noticeably striped. Small yellowish plates are located under the hat, which expand at the edges. The edges of the hats themselves have a small fringe. Caesar mushroom in the section becomes yellowish or orange.

Where to looking for

The growth area of ​​the Caesar mushroom is located in many countries with different climatic conditions. It can be found both in deciduous forests of Crimea and Transcarpathia, and in some places in Africa. Also, Caesar mushroom is not uncommon in America and the Caucasus. In Europe, it spread in Italy, Spain, France and Germany. Basically Caesar mushroom grows in territories with a temperate climate.

Thanks to its various useful properties, Caesar mushroom is listed in the lists of the Red Book of Germany and Ukraine.

Possessing a rich composition, this mushroom is massively used in medicine, pharmacy and cooking.

In cooking, Caesar mushroom does not require longterm heat treatment. These young mushrooms are used raw, as an addition to salads. It can also be fried, stew and bake. The calorie content of the Caesar mushroom is quite low: 22 kilocalories per 100 grams.

This mushroom is notable for the fact that it does not have a characteristic smell. Among gourmets, the taste of this mushroom is very appreciated.

The difference from similar species

Caesar mushroom has characteristic features that distinguish it from similar toxic relatives, in particular fly agaric. You can quickly distinguish the fly agaric by its white warts on a hat and white plates. In the egg phase, when the mushroom only appeared in the soil, it has a lot of similarities with a pale bog. The difference is only in the cut of the hat. The filth has white in the context, while the Caesar mushroom is yellow.
