  • Character

The American Burmese cat is distinguished by its contact. This is such a kind cat that the breed is considered the most suitable for families with small children. Burmese tries to patronize them and in no case will cause harm. The contact of the Burmese cat allows her to easily adapt to a house where there are already pets. This also applies to cases where elderly cats or large dogs live in the same house. Breeders note that the good nature of the Burmese is inherited by kittens, even if the cat is crossed with other breeds.

If you are often away from home, then it is best to abandon such a breed, as the cat will be homesick and may even get sick. Burmese are strongly attached to their master, they really do not like to be alone. The way out of the situation is to get two cats of this breed, then in the absence of the owners they will really have something to do. But be prepared for a mess, because Burmese cannot be called calm, this breed is very active and playful.

One of the distinguishing features of the cat’s character is its high intelligence. You can talk to her, and at one glance it becomes clear that she really understands human speech. Listening to the owner, the Burmese cat can even respond in a peculiar way, the Burmese are very fond of doing this. If desired, they can be taught the simplest commands, for this you do not even need to have special education. These cats are easily trained and obey their owner.

Loyalty is another character trait of the Burmese. They will always remain faithful to their master, they will never take revenge on him, be offended and harm.

A cat of this breed does not need special care. She is shorthaired, so she needs minimal combing, once a week is enough. This cat does not need to be washed, unless, of course, it is dirty.

American Burmese is undemanding. Veterinary communities have recognized this breed as the healthiest. Her only real problem is her teeth. These pets need regular dental check-ups from a veterinarian.

    Conditions of detention

It is extremely important for an active and curious American Burmese to have an equipped play area where she can throw out her energy. She needs a scratching post, manholes, sleeping places at different levels. Burmese cats like to climb high up and watch everything that happens, therefore, if the space in the house allows, it is advisable to provide pets with such an opportunity.
