Sphinx cats cannot be treated indifferently: they are either loved or not understood. But, in spite of everything, they are an example of intelligence, devotion and independence. At the same time, the cat of this breed respects and loves its master, trying to completely take possession of his attention.
Sphinxes are very smart and trained. It is believed that these cats easily learn the commands and understand the owner at a glance. But at the same time, they have their own character and will not just like that, for show, to execute commands from someone’s whim. These cats are kind and affectionate, they are not characterized by fear and anger. However, they require the same attitude to themselves. The sphinx cannot scream and raise the voice. He will not only not understand what you want from him, but can get a psychological trauma.
Sphinxes calmly react to other animals in the family. Due to the fact that they do not have a feeling of fear, these cats easily get along even with large dogs. Another distinctive quality of the sphinxes is the manner of communication with children. Cats are ready to play, wallow, run with a child in a word, to be an excellent nanny who never scratches and does not bite: the sphinx has no sense of aggression. Mentally unstable individuals were rejected from breeding throughout the halfcentury history of the breed.
Care
Sphinxes are very sensitive to low temperatures and drafts. If the temperature in the room is below 20 degrees, it is recommended to wear a cat in a sweater or a warm suit. In winter, you can also insulate a cat house.
The lack of wool affected the sweating of cats. The sebaceous glands all over the animal’s body distinguish sweat, which, mixing with dust and dirt, can provoke the development of skin diseases. As a result, the cat is recommended regularly to bathe: once every 7-10 days with a special shampoo. After this, the pet must be wrapped in a warm towel so that it does not freeze.
Conditions of detention
Sphinxes are absolutely home cats that are not adapted for the street, especially for independent walks.
One of the beloved classes of the bald cat is to bask on the windowsill in the sun or near the battery. However, the owner must be very attentive: these cats can easily get a burn, especially while in the sun.
The best physical activity of the sphinx games, the cat will be glad to many toys, labyrinths and a multitier house with interesting designs. So the pet will be able to occupy himself in the absence of households.
Sphinxes have good appetite, so they need to feed them with highquality feeds, as well as monitor the quantity and calorie content of the diet.
