Cheetah photo and description of the fastest animal on earth | Report and message

Cheetah (Acinonyx Jubatus) mammal of the Family Family, clan cheetahs. This is the last representative in his family, except for him, the cheetahs on the planet did not stay. Its distinctive feature is that it is the fastest animal on Earth and can accelerate to 120 km/h, also this cat has a sliding claw this feature does not occur in the rest of the predators.

Description

An ordinary observer may have an opinion that the cheetah is a very fragile and delicate beast: thin, mobile, without a drop of subcutaneous fat, just muscles and skeleton, covered with an unusual color with a skin. But in fact, the body of this cat is perfectly developed and impresses with its ideal.

An adult can reach up to a meter in height and about 120 cm in length, their approximate weight is 50 kg. The fur, relatively short and delicious, has a light yellow, sandy color, on which, over the entire surface, except for the belly, small dark tanks of various shapes and sizes are scattered. Such a fur coat perfectly warms the cat during cold weather and saves from overheating in severe heat. Small, not more than half a centimeter in width, dark lines, so called “lacrimal marks” descend from light-brown, golden, eyes to the mouth. In addition to purely aesthetic goals, these strips play the role of peculiar sights allow you to focus on the booty and protect against sunlight.

Males, unlike females, have a small mane of longer hairs on the neck. True, immediately after the birth of all kittens, this decoration has, but at the age of 2.5 months it disappears in the cats. Above the hryvnia, on a small, compared to the body, there are small, rounded ears, nose black.

Experts are sure that all cheetahs are owners of both spatial and binocular vision. They can simultaneously track the game chosen for hunting and observe what is happening around. It is thanks to this feature that they are considered unsurpassed hunters, the living creatures they pursued is practically no chance of salvation.

Vegs and subspecies of the cheetah

Only 5 subspecies of this graceful animal have survived to this day:

one.African cheetah (4 types):

  • Acinonyx Jubatus Hecki;
  • Acinonyx Jubatus Fearsoni;
  • Acinonyx Jubatus Jubatus;
  • Acinonyx Jubatus Soemmerringi;
  • 2.Asian cheetah.

    The-Asians differ from their African brothers with a more powerful neck and shortened limbs. Also earlier, scientists distinguished another variety of cheetahs black, but over time it turned out that these inhabitants of Kenya are just an intraspecific deviation with the Gene mutations.

    Asian cheetah

    Occasionally, like other mammals, the cheetahs can find albinos, the socalled royal cats. Instead of spots, long black stripes are drawn along their spine, the color is lighter, and the mane is short and dark. In their scientific world, long disputes were also conducted in the scientific world: the scientists did not know whether to attribute them to a separate variety, or such external features the result of the mutation. The latest version became obvious after in 1968 the pair of royal cheetahs was born a kitten, no different from most of the habitual NonGorolevsky relatives.

    Habitat

    The cheetah is the inhabitant of such natural zones as the desert and savannah, the main condition for living is an even, moderately overgrown with vegetation relief. Previously, these cats could be found in almost all countries of Asia, but now they are completely exterminated in Egypt, Afghanistan, Morocco, Western Sahara, Guinea, the UAE, occasionally you can find small populations in Iran. Now their homeland is Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botsvan, Burkina-Faso, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Somalia and Sudan. In addition, they are also found in Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Chade, Ethiopia, the Central African Republic and South Africa. In Swaziland, their population was resumed artificially.

    The following types are considered extinct:

  • Acinonyx aicha;
  • Acinonyx Intermedius;
  • Acinonyx kurteni;
  • Acinonyx Pardinensis European cheetah.
  • In wild conditions, this large cat can live from 20 to 25 years, and in captivity and up to 32.

    What eats

    The main food for the cheetah is:

  • Gazelle;
  • gnome antelopes;
  • impals;
  • hares;
  • Jayrans.
  • At night, this predator hunts extremely rarely and prefers to show activity only in the morning or at sunset when the heat falls, and the sun’s rays do not blind.

    He almost never uses the fan during hunting, his main weapon is acute vision and speed. Since there is nowhere to hide in the steppe, their ambush cheaps do not attack when they see the future victim, they overtake it in several jumps, knock it down with a powerful paw and gnaw on the throat. If the prey is not overtaken in the first 300 m, the persecution stops: fast running is greatly exhausting the beast, and a small amount of lungs does not allow a long chase.

    Reproduction

    Sexually mature cheetahs become at the age of 2.5-3 years, pregnancy lasts from 85 to 95 days, offspring is born absolutely helpless. Until 15 daily kittens are blind, they cannot walk and only crawl. All concern for the cubs to lie exclusively on the shoulders of females, which I educate babies throughout the year, until the next estrus. The participation of males in the reproduction of the species ends exclusively by the process of fertilization.
