Character
Big Switzersky Zennenhund is an ancient breed of dogs, the story of which has more than two thousand years. Its ancestors are believed by scientists, are mastiffs accompanying the Roman conquerors, and dogs who at that time inhabited the territories of Switzerland. At the same time, the Great Swiss Zennenhund is not the only breed that appeared as a result of such a union. Appencelller Zennenhund, Entlebucher’s mountain dog and Bernsky Zennenhund are also their descendants. However, the Great Swiss Zennenhund appeared first, and the rest were already formed with his participation. It is interesting that he also influenced the Rottweilers and Spanish mastphs.
Big Swiss Zenenhund has always been a working breed. It was used not only as guards and shepherds, but also for the transportation of goods. These animals were especially popular during the Second World War.
Today, the Great Swiss Zenenhunda is most often made as a companion, although in their homeland, in Switzerland, these dogs still often help farmers.
Representatives of the breed are distinguished by goodnaturedness and a calm disposition, they are balanced and reasonable. However, phlegmaticians and melancholys cannot be called them. Dogs are active and energetic, they will gladly support any game. Even adults have puppy habits they grow, like many large dogs, quite slowly.
Big Swiss Zennenhund has a sharp mind. Dogs are not easy to train, since some representatives of the breed are very wayward, especially if they do not like the coach approach. So the process of education will require effort and patience from the owner.
With other animals in the house of Bolshoi Zennenhund, as a rule, is friends. Dogs can get along even with cats. But conflicts cannot be avoided with a nervous neighbor, although most often Zennenhund shows generosity and prefers to avoid open conflicts. Big Sennenhund can become a devoted friend of a school age child. Communication with younger children should be under the control of adults: a large dog can accidentally injure the baby during active games.
Care
Short thick hair of a large zennenhund does not require special care. It is enough to comb out the dog every week with a hard brush, and during the molting period a couple of times a week. To do this, use a furminator.
Conditions of detention
Big Swiss Zennenhund requires daily long walks and physical exertion. However, it is very strictly worth monitoring the dog up to a year not allowing her too intense exercises: excessive load can lead to severe joint injuries.
Awesome post.
