  • Character

Until now, the breeders of Japanese Spitz cannot unequivocally answer the question of who is the ancestor of these dogs. According to one version, they descended from the White German Spitz, which was brought to Japan from China at the beginning of the 20th century. Another version suggests that their ancestors became stunted Siberian likes. One way or another, the standard of this snow-white spitz was adopted in 1948 in Japan, and already in the 1970s the breed was registered in Europe. Interestingly, at the moment, the Japanese Spitz has been recognized by all cynological organizations with the exception of the American dog breeding club. The US breeders believe that he is too similar to an American Eskimos dog.

Japanese Spitz is an ideal companion dog for both single people and families with children. These funny animals will not let anyone get bored: they are playful, curious and tireless.

The breeders of the Japanese Spitz always emphasize the devotion of the pets and their willingness to protect their “their”. At the sight of a stranger, Spitz begins to bark, so he copes with the role of a watchman. At the same time, excessive noise is considered the marriage of the breed (these animals are also called silent dogs).

It is believed that the Japanese Spitz is perfectly trained: he is obedient and attentive. However, sometimes a pet can strive for dominance, and training needs to pay special attention. The training should not be too soft or strict so as not to spoil the character of the dog.

Japanese Spitz quickly ties to a person, especially if the family has elderly people or children. In addition, dogs of this breed easily get along with cats and other animals. The breeders are convinced: in the Japanese spitz, the hunting instinct is poorly expressed.

    Care

Distinctive feature of the Japanese spitz snowwhite thick wool. It seems that it requires daily scrupulous care, but this is not entirely. Thanks to a special structure, the hair is almost not dirty, and any dirt can be removed using a comb. In addition, the wool does not fall into the stiffs and does not smell, even if the pet is wet.

Nevertheless, like any dog, the Japanese spitz is melting, so during the period of shift of wool it must be combed several times a week. Bathing a pet should be as contaminated using special shampoos and balms.

Japanese Spitz does not like hygiene procedures it is worth accustoming to the cutting of claws and brushing the teeth of the puppy since childhood.

    Conditions of detention

Japanese Spitz is an active dog that will be happy to live outside the city. However, she does not suit her content on the street, in her own cone. Representatives of the breed feel great in a city apartment, the main thing is to allocate a secluded and cozy corner to them.
