Global climate warming on Earth and Eurasia consequences and causes, solving the problem

Global warming is a regrettable fact that we have been observed for many years, regardless of the opinion of scientists. To do this, it is just enough to ask the dynamics of the average temperature on Earth.

Such data can be found and analyzed at once in three sources:

  • Portal of the National Administration of the United States engaged in atmospheric phenomena;
  • Portal of the University of East England;
  • NASA website, more precisely, the Institute of Space Research of Goddar.
  • Photos of the Grinnell glacier in the National Park of glaciers (Canada) in 1940 and 2006.

    What is global warming?

    Global warming is a slow, but steady increase in the level of an average annual temperature indicator. The reasons for this phenomenon are an infinite number, from increasing solar activity to the results of people’s activities.

    Such warming is noticeable not only in direct temperature indicators it can be clearly traced according to indirect data:

  • Change and increase in the level of the oceans (these indicators are fixed by independent observation lines). This phenomenon is explained by an elementary expansion of water under the influence of an increase in temperature;
  • Reduction in the area of snow and ice cover in the Arctic;
  • Melting glacial masses.
  • However, most scientists support the idea of the active participation of mankind in this process.

    The problem of global warming

    For millennia, humanity, not sparing the planet, has used it for its own purposes. The appearance of megacities, the extraction of fossils, the destruction of the gifts of nature birds, animals, deforestation.

    It is not surprising that the nature to prepare to deliver a crushing blow to us so that a person on himself can experience all the consequences of such behavior: after all, nature will perfectly survive without us, but a person is not able to live without natural resources.

    And, first of all, when they talk about such consequences, they mean global warming, which may well turn into a tragedy not only for people, but also for all organisms living on Earth.

    The pace of this process, observed over the past decades, has nothing similar to the past 2 thousand years. And the scale of the changes taking place on Earth, according to scientists of the Swiss Berne University, are incomparable even with a small ice age known to each student (it lasted from the 14th to the 19th century).

    Causes of global warming

    Global warming is one of the significant ecoproblem today. And this process is accelerated and actively continues under the influence of many serious factors.

    The main and critical for the environment, scientists call the following reasons for the warming process:

    1. Increase in the atmosphere of carbon dioxide and other harmful impurities: nitrogen, methane and the like. This is due to the active activity of factories and factories, the work of vehicles, and a variety of natural disasters have the most negative impact on the environmental situation: large-scale accidents, explosions, fires.
    2. Steam is released due to increased air temperature indicators. In view of this situation, the water of the Earth (rivers, lakes, seas) begin to actively evaporate and if this process continues at the same speed, then over the next hundreds of years the water of the world ocean can significantly decrease.
    3. Melting glaciers, which helps to increase the water level in the oceans. And, as a result, the coastline of the continents floods, which automatically means floods and destruction of settlements.

    This process is accompanied by the release of gas harmful to the atmosphere methane, and its further contamination.

    The consequences of global warming

    Global warming is a serious danger to humanity, and, above all, it is necessary to realize all the consequences of this irreversible process:

  • Growth in average annual temperature: it steadily increases every year, which scientists state with regret;
  • The melting of glaciers, which no one is arguing with: for example, the Argentinean glacier UPSAL (its area is 250 km2), which was once one of the most significant on the mainland, annually melts on catastrophic 200 meters;
  • Increase in water level in the ocean.
  • As a result of the melting of glaciers (Greenland, Antarctica, Arctic) the water level rises annually now it has changed by almost 20 meters.

  • Many species of animals will suffer;
  • The number of rains will increase, and in some areas, on the contrary, a dry climate will be established.
  • The result of global warming today

    To date, scientists emphasize (and their research are published in serious scientific publications Nature and Nature Geoscience) that those who are skeptical of generally accepted ideas about the destructiveness of warming are not significant arguments in stock.

    Scientists have compiled a graph of climate change over the past 2 thousand years, which clearly shows that the warming process that passes today has no analogues both in terms of their scale.

    In this regard, adherents of the theory by which the changes taking place in the environment today are just periodic, and then they will necessarily change the period of cooling, must recognize the failure of such views. Such an analysis is based on serious studies, such as changes in corals, the study of annual rings, and the analysis of lake sedimentary phenomena. At the moment, the earthly land area on the planet has also changed it has become more by 58 thousand square meters. km over the past thirty years.

    Even during climatic changes, which are called “medieval climatic optimum” (up to 1250. n.e.), when the era of a sufficiently warm climate reigned on the planet, all changes were only about the northern hemisphere, and they did not affect so much no more than 40% of the entire surface of the planet.

    And what is happening at the moment, warming already covers almost the entire globe almost 98 percent of the territory of the Earth.

    That is why experts emphasize the complete failure of the arguments of those who are skeptical of the warming process and casts doubt on the unprecedented of the processes that are observed today, as well as their unconditional anthropogenicity.

    Global warming in Eurasia

    Modern climatologists seriously warn: in our country the climate becomes warmer at a much higher speed than this happens throughout the planet in general in 2.5 times. Many scientists evaluate this process from different points of view: for example, there is an opinion that Russia, as a northern, cold country, will only benefit from such changes and even receive some benefit.

    But if we study the issue versatile, it is obvious that potential benefits in no way will be able to block the damage that will cause the climate on the national economy, and in general the existence of the people. To date, according to numerous studies, the average annual temperature in the European part of the country is growing every ten years by significant 0.four%.

    Such indicators of the changes are due to the land location of the country: in the ocean, warming and its consequences are not so noticeable due to the vastness of the territories, while on land everything that happens changes much more serious and faster.

    For example, in the Arctic, the process of warming is much more active here we are talking about a threefold increase in the dynamics of the transformation of climatic conditions compared to the rest of the territory. Scientists predict that already in 2050 the ice in the Arctic will be observed exclusively periodically, in winter.

    Fottling means a threat to a huge number of ecosystems of Eurasia, as well as for its industry and, as a whole, the economic situation, not to mention the life of citizens of the country.

    Warming map in Eurasia

    However, not everything is so unambiguous: there are those who claim that for our country warming can result in considerable benefit:

  • Productivity will increase
  • This is the most frequent argument that can be heard in favor of climate change: there are often statements that this state of affairs will make it possible to significantly expand the field of cultivation of a large number of crops. And this means that it will be possible, roughly speaking, in the north to sow wheat, and in the middle latitudes to wait for the crop of peaches.

    But those who advocate such an argument do not take into account that the main productive crops are grown just in the southern territories of the country. Namely, the agrarian industry will tolerate serious difficulties due to arid climate.

    For example, in 2010, due to a serious drying summer, a third part of the entire grain crop died, and in 2012 these numbers approached a quarter. Losses for these two hot years amounted to approximately 300 billion rubles.

    Both dry periods and abundant precipitation are very adversely affected by agrarian activities: in 2019, such climatic cataclysms in almost 2 dozen regions forced to introduce an emergency regime in agriculture in agriculture.

  • Lowering the level of expenses associated with insulation
  • Quite often, among the “amenities” of warming, some scientists call the reduction of expenses directly related to heating of housing. But here everything is not clear. After all, the heating season itself will really change its duration, but in parallel with these changes there will be a need for air conditioning. And this is a significantly more serious cost item.

    In addition, the heat will inevitably affect the state of health of the population: the risk of epidemics, and a decrease in the average life expectancy under the influence of cardiovascular, pulmonary diseases and other problems in people of advanced age.

    It is from warming that the number of particles causing allergies increases in the air (pollen and the like), which also negatively affects the state of health of the population especially suffering from pulmonary problems (asthma, for example).

    So, it was 2010, according to the UN information, and its elevated temperature was in 7th place in the Deadly Death rating: in the capital of Eurasia during this period, mortality rate increased by 50.7 percent, and abnormal heat in the European territory of the country has killed at least 55 thousand people.

  • Changing the comfort of the weather
  • Natural phenomena, the cause of which was warming, caused not only problems in the agroindustrial complex, but also affected the standard of living of Russians.

    Over the past 20 years in the country, the number of dangerous hydrometeorological accidents occurring every year has doubled: hail, floods, rain, droughts and much more.

    For example, in the Khabarovsk Territory, as well as the surrounding areas (Irkutsk and Amur), a huge number of roads and buildings sunk under the water. In this regard, there was a mass evacuation due to a significant number of victims and missing, as well as problems related to the termination of transport communication.

    In the regions of the North, the increased humidity level has become the immediate cause of changes and destruction associated with urban infrastructure. Many buildings were in disrepair due to the influence of increased condensate and frequent changes in temperature indicators in a short time-in less than ten years.

  • Expansion of the navigation period (in particular, on the Northern Sea Route)
  • Melting and reducing the territory of eternal permafrost (and its territory is almost 63 percent of our country) is one of the serious risk factors that carry warming. In this zone there are a large number of not only roads and highways, but also cities, enterprises, other industry facilities and all of them were built taking into account the specifics of perzed soil. Such a change turned out to be the threat of the entire infrastructure-because of it, pipes burst, buildings collapse, other emergency situations occur.

    Thanks to the 2017 report provided by the climate structure of Roshydrometenter, the northern city of Norilsk can “boast” with a phenomenal number of houses destroyed and damaged as a result of deformation of the soil: there were more than over the past half century.

    Simultaneously with these problems, reducing the territory of permafrost automatically causes an increase in the number of river drains and this causes serious floods.

    Struggle against global warming

    In addition to the problem of global warming, naturally there are factors (both natural origin and anthropogenic), which contribute to the process of slowing down. First of all, this process is significantly contributed to the ocean course. So, recently, a slowdown in the gulf Stream has been noted, as well as a decrease in the level of temperatures in the Arctic.

    The methods of combating warming and the most effective and effective way to solve this problem include a rational attitude to the issue of resource exchange by reducing the level of greenhouse gas emissions.

    The world community makes maximum efforts to transition from the usual methods of obtaining energy, most of which are associated with the burning of carbon components, to alternative methods of fuel mining. It is developed by the use of solar panels, alternative power plants (windy, geothermal and others) and the like energy.

    At the same time, the development is of no small importance, as well as the process of improving regulatory documentation, which is aimed at reducing the level of emission of greenhouse gases.

    In this regard, many countries of the world have ratified the UN framework that regulates climate change, supplemented by a Kyoto protocol. At the same time, laws governing carbon emissions at the government level of states play a significant role in solving the problem.

    Solving global warming issues

    A group of university scientists in the UK (famous Cambridge), dealt with the issue of analysis of proposals to save the land from warming. This initiative was supported by the famous professor David King, who emphasizes that at the moment the proposed methods cannot be effective and prevent the impending climate change. Therefore, he supported the creation of a special center that he initiated, which is engaged in the coordination of this issue. His scientists assure that the efforts and actions undertaken in the very near future will be decisive in the issue of the future of mankind and this problem is now one of the most important.

    Professor David King

    And the main task of this center is not only and not so much work with geoengineering projects and their direct assessment from the point of view of interference in the process of warming, but also the solution of climatic problems. This center has become a significant part of the university’s initiative, which is called the “future without greenhouse gases”, in which the joint cooperation of climatologists, engineers and even sociologists is expected.

    Among the proposals of the Center, to resolve the issue of warming, quite interesting and unique options come across:

  • removal of CO2 from the earth’s atmosphere and burial carbon dioxide. An interesting version of the already studied concept of sequestration CO2 from the atmosphere, which is based on the interception of carbon dioxide emissions at the stage of power plants (coal or gas) and its burial under the thickness of the earth’s crust. Thus, the development of a pilot project for the disposal of carbon dioxide has already been launched in South Wales together with the Tata Steel company specializing in the metallurgical field.
  • Salt spraying on the territory of the oceans. This idea is one of the farreaching ones and allows you to change the level of reflective ability of the cloud layers of the atmosphere over the poles of the Earth. For this purpose, the possibility of spraying sea water using hydrants of enhanced power is considered, which will be installed on sea vessels with automatic control in the northern territories. For this purpose, it is proposed to spray sea water using powerful hydrants installed on automatic ships in polar waters.
  • Thanks to this, microcaples of the solution will be created in the air, with which there will be a cloud with an increased level of Albedo (in other words, reflective ability) and it will affect the process of cooling and water and air with its shadow.

  • Having settled the territory of the ocean with living cultures of algae. With the help of this approach, it is supposed to increase the degree of absorption of carbon dioxide. This scheme provides for the process of spraying over the thickness of the water in the form of powder, which stimulates the production of phytoplankton.
  • Some of these developments include the reproduction of GMO-Corals, which can withstand the existence of not low temperature in water, as well as the enrichment of sea waters with chemicals that lower its acidity.

    The consequences of collapse predicted by scientists due to global warming, of course, are threatened with disaster, but not everything is so critical. So, humanity knows a huge number of examples when a craving for life, contrary to everything, won a crushing victory. Take, for example, the same ice age known to everyone. Many scientists tend to believe that the process of warming is not some kind of disaster, but refers only to a certain period of climatic moments on Earth that occur throughout its history.

    Humanity has been making efforts for a long time to improve the state of the planet and, continuing in the same spirit, we have every chance with the least risk of surviving this period.

    Examples of global warming on Earth in our time:

    1. Glacier Uppsal in Patagonia (Argentina)

    2. Mountains in Austria, 1875 and 2005
