In April 1941, one of the largest discoveries of that time was made in Kamchatka the Giser Valley. It should be noted that such a great event was not at all the result of a long, focused expedition everything happened by chance. So, geologist Tatyana Ustinova, together with the local resident Anisifor Krupenin, who was her guides on the campaign, opened this wonderful valley. And the purpose of the campaign was to study the water world and the regime of the river noisy, as well as its tributaries.
The discovery was all the more incredible because previously not a single scientist put forward any assumptions that geysers could be at all on this continent. Although, it was in this area that some volcanoes were located, which means that theoretically finding such unique sources was still possible. But, after a series of studies, scientists came to the conclusion that there can be no thermodynamic conditions for geysers here. Nature decided in a different way that they discovered on one of April days a geologist and a local resident.
The valley of geysers is rightfully called the pearl of Kamchatka and is a whole symbiosis of environmental systems. This outlandish section is located near the Heiser River and occupies about 6 square kilometers of the area.
In fact, if you compare this territory with a total area, it is quite small. But, it is here that waterfalls, hot springs, lakes, unique thermal sites and even mud boilers are collected here. It goes without saying that this area is popular with tourists, but in order to maintain a natural environmental system, the tourist load here is rigidly limited.
Names of geysers in Kamchatka
Many geysers that were open in the area are names that are fully consistent with their value or form. There are about 26 geysers in total. Below is the most famous.
It is considered one of the most active the height of its jet reaches about 5 meters, but the power of water release per day reaches 1000 cubic meters. He received such a name in honor of the scientist-vulcanologist Valery Averiev. This fountain is located near the whole assembly of its brothers called stained glass.
This geyser is the best suited for its name and, moreover, is available to tourists. The height of its jet can reach up to 10 meters, and the pillars of steam reach even to 200 (!) meters. Everions occur almost every hour.
In 2007, as a result of cataclysms, he was flooded and stopped his work for almost three months. Through joint efforts of caring people who manually cleared the geyser, he earned again.
This hot fountain can throw up a stream of boiling water up to 35 meters high. Eruptions do not occur so often-every 5-7 hours. The area around it is almost everything in small hot springs and streams.
This geyser has one feature some “false” calls to eruption small boiling emissions occur, only 2 meters high.
This geyser is interesting not so much by its natural phenomenon as the appearance it is two large holes that come directly from the ground. And due to the fact that the production of steam is almost constantly, noise and lowfrequency sounds are heard. So it corresponds to its name as well as possible.
It is not particularly popular among tourists, as it is located in the separation from the accessories available to strangers, the route. Unlike other geysers who have a vertical, that is, the correct shape for themselves, this one is in a horizontal position. Eruptions occur at an angle of 45 degrees.
One of the most unusual, in a sense, even mystical geysers in the valley. It is located not far from the Stained Complex, and for a long time was considered not operating, while the eruptions were not able to capture on the camera. The height of the jet here reaches 60 meters.
As you can understand from the name, it was this source that was opened by the geologist the very first. Until 2007, it was considered the largest in the valley. After the landslide, his work almost completely stopped, and the geyser independently revived already in 2011.
This is the only source that is located far from the valley to see it will have to overcome a distance of 16 kilometers. The geyser is located in the caller of the uzone volcano, and the reason for its formation has not yet been established.
In addition, in the valley you can find such geysers as pearl, fountain, inconsistent, impostor, upper, crying, gap, Gosha. This is not a complete list, in fact there are much more of them.
Unfortunately, such a complex environmental system cannot function perfectly, so cataclysms still happen. There were two of them in this area. In 1981, Typhoon provoked strong and prolonged rainfalls, which is why the water rose in the rivers, and some of the geysers were flooded.
In 2007, a huge landslide formed, which simply blocked the channel of the geyser river, which also led to extremely negative consequences. The mud stream, which thus formed, irrevocably destroyed 13 unique sources.
