The female can copulate not only with one male, but the dominant jaguar prefers to drive the weaker.

The role of males is only in fertilization, after which they leave the territory of the female. The propagation period can last all year round, but its peak falls in the interval from December to March. The duration of pregnancy varies from 91 to 111 days.
