Crash Sheepdog an ancient breed of dog. It is believed that her ancestors accompanied the Illyrians a people who inhabited the territory of the Balkan Peninsula millennia ago.
The first mention of dogs similar to the Crash Sheepdog dates back to the 17th century. However, then the breed was called differently the Illyrian Shepherd Dog. For a long time, by the way, the Sharplanin Shepherd Dog was also attributed to the same type.
The official separation of the breeds took place only in 1968. The Crash Shepherd Dog got its name from the Karst plateau in Slovenia.

The Crash Sheepdog is a worthy representative of the herding dog family. Strong, brave, hardworking so most often the owners characterize their pets. By the way, even today these executive and responsible dogs graze livestock and help people.
Stern and serious at first glance, these shepherd dogs are quite friendly and playful. However, they do not trust strangers, and the dog is unlikely to be the first to make contact. Moreover, she will not let an uninvited guest close to the house. First, the shepherd will give a warning signal, and if the person does not stop, he will act.
Raising a Crash Sheepdog is not easy. With this dog, you need to go through a general training course and protective guard duty. Of course, it is better to entrust the upbringing of a pet to a professional dog handler.
The socialization of the Crash Sheepdog should take place early, you need to start as early as two months. It is especially important to conduct it for those pets who live outside the city, in the limited space of a private house. Otherwise, the “Cottage Dog Syndrome”, which is afraid of everything unfamiliar and therefore reacts inadequately to manifestations of the outside world, cannot be avoided.
The Crash Sheepdog gets along well with animals in the house if it grew up with them. In other cases, much depends on the nature of a particular individual.

The dog is affectionate with children, but it is not recommended to leave it alone with the kids. Best of all, the shepherd gets along with teenagers and schoolchildren.

Care
The long coat of the Crash Sheepdog should be brushed every week to prevent tangles. During the molting period, the procedure is carried out two or more times a week.
But bathe animals rarely, as needed. Usually no more than once every three months.
Conditions of detention
Crash shepherd dogs are moderately active. It is difficult to call them indoor dogs, but they feel quite comfortable living in the yard of a private house. In this case, it is worth taking the dog to the forest or park at least once a week.
It is impossible to keep Crash Sheepdogs on a chain they are freedom-loving animals. But you can equip your pet with an aviary. Every day, the dog must be released into the yard so that it can warm up and throw out its energy.
