East poppy is a perennial plant whose large red petals are familiar to almost every person. In the wild, the flower is unpretentious and frosted. Prefers to grow in sunny glades, but beautiful and, not a little important, it blooms abundantly in shady areas.

  • A straight and thick stem, reaching a height of 40 to 90 centimeters. Below it is covered with shaggy bristles of white color. The stem is also short, while several small leaves will be present on it;
  • long leaves, the length of which can be 30 centimeters. The basic sheets are held by petioles covered with bristles, the plate can be oblong or lanceolate, but contains many segments. The leaves of the stem are slightly smaller;
  • 35 centimeter peduncles they are thick and practical completely white;
  • ovoid buds, less often widely in shape up to 3 centimeters in length. They are covered with multiple white bristles;
  • cups in the amount of up to 3 pieces;
  • large corolla painted in a red tint;
  • from 3 to 6 petals, a rounded kidneys in length no more than 9 centimeters. Most often they are painted in orange or red-pink;
  • Dark stamens, which are expanding slightly to the top and are supplemented by oblong purple antheries;
  • a blue and bare fruit, the box of which resembles an inverted egg up to 3 centimeters in length.
  • Blooms mainly in the period from June to July. It is propagated by seeds and dividing the bush, which is why it is easy to grow in its own garden, but it is worth considering that the stem does not tolerate the transplant, which is why this is best done not during flowering.

    The reduction of the population is affected by the numerous beneficial properties of the Eastern poppy. For example, it is used in everyday life or as an ingredient in therapeutic drinks. It helps to get rid of diarrhea and insomnia, fever and bite of insects, hemorrhoids and liver diseases. The only negative factor is that it can harm children.
