Origin story
Maltipu these cute shaggy dogs with beady eyes are considered a designer breed and are not recognized by the International Canine Federation. Moreover, recognition is out of the question, since the most cute maltipu are obtained only in the first generation of crossing the toy poodle and the Maltese. When crossing two maltipu puppies are no longer so charming and interesting to buyers. And for the first time these unusual mestizos appeared in the USA and quickly gained popularity among show business stars and ordinary people due to their puppet appearance, light and lively disposition, small size and lack of pronounced molting.
Description
Since breeds that are quite different in appearance are crossed to obtain a maltipoo, it is difficult to predict what kind of puppies in the litter will turn out. Most often, several breed types are distinguished by wool: maltipoo with straight silky hair inherited from lapdogs, with thick curly hair and the rarest and most undesirable type with coarse hair that forms light waves. Typical representatives of the breed are small in size, with a puppet face and floppy ears.

Character
Maltipu are cheerful, resilient dogs that are ready to support their owners in any endeavors, as well as give them their boundless love and devotion. They are relatively easy to train, but they do not tolerate rudeness and screams. With a maltipu, it is necessary to start obedience as early as possible, but gently and unobtrusively.

Care
In many ways, the complexity of caring for a maltip depends on what type of coat the dog inherited from its parents. It is quite easy to care for representatives of the breed with smooth and silky hair, it is much more difficult to care for animals with curly hair: in the absence of regular combing, the wool quickly falls into tangles. In any case, maltipu need regular brushing and washing, as well as a visit to the groomer to cut the coat and give it an interesting shape.
Content
These dogs, despite their small size and toy appearance, are still thinking, living creatures and need training, walks and active communication with the owners. You should not consider the maltip only as a beautiful accessory. These are smart dogs that deserve to be perceived as a companion, played with and taught at least a minimal set of commands for example, “fu”, “to me” and “near”.
