Schnauzer breed dogs are distinguished by intelligence and attentiveness. They easily learn new commands if they want to please their master. However, this will require a lot of effort: raising a standard schnauzer is not such an easy process as it might seem at first glance. This dog loves to dominate, so the owner must establish his own rules from the first days of the appearance of the puppy in the house. But it should be remembered that punishing a puppy does not imply a scream or physical impact: representatives of the breed have a good memory and self-esteem, so they can withdraw and become even more independent.

The standard schnauzer becomes attached to its owner. This is a devoted dog who is painfully going through parting. Leaving the dog alone for a long time is not worth it, this can make it bored and start to yearn, which will certainly lead to poor handling and loss of confidence.

Representatives of this breed are excellent defenders. The standard schnauzer will not hesitate to rush at the enemy, who, in his opinion, offends the owner. He also has good security qualities, since he is zealous in protecting his territory.

Representatives of this breed are very active and playful, so they easily get along with older children. Small children should be near the dog only under the supervision of adults. The standard schnauzer does not always find a common language with animals: hunting instincts affect. However, if early socialization is carried out, there will be no problems. The dog also relates well to those animals with which it grew up.

    Care

Standard Schnauzers need daily grooming. To avoid excessive shedding and tangles, the dog is brushed several times a week with a furminator. You can bathe her as needed. It is believed that representatives of this breed do not smell.

Particular attention should be paid to the condition of the beard, ears and eyes of the dog. After each walk, they should be cleaned of dust and dirt.
