Mousson climate regions in Eurasia, type of climate, which is characteristic, description

The climate is characterized as unchanging weather regime in the same territory. It depends on the interaction of various factors: solar radioactivity, circulation of air flows, geographical latitudes, the environment. The relief, the proximity of the seas and oceans, the prevailing winds also plays an important role.

The following types of climate are divided: equatorial, tropical, Mediterranean, moderate subarctic, Antarctic. And the most unpredictable and interesting is the monsoon climate.

The nature of the monsoon climate

This type of climate is characteristic of those sections of the planet where the monsoon circulation of the atmosphere predominates, that is, depending on the time of year, in these territories there is a change in the direction of the wind. Musson is a wind that blows from the sea in the summer, and in winter from sushi. Such a wind can bring with you both terrible heat, frosts and drought, and heavy rains and thunderstorms.

The main feature of the monsoon climate is that during the year the number of precipitation drops dramatically changes in its territories. If rains and thunderstorms are frequent in summer, then there is practically no precipitation in winter. As a result, the humidity of the air in the summer is very high, and in the winter low. A sharp change in humidity distinguishes this climate from all others, where precipitation is distributed throughout the year more or less evenly.

Often, the monsoon climate prevails only at the latitude of tropics and subtropics, the subequatorial belt and is practically not found in temperate latitudes and at the equator.

Types of monsoon climate

Musson climate is distributed by type, based on the terrain and latitude. Separate:

  • Continental tropical mousson climate;
  • monsoon climate Ocean tropical;
  • Musson climate tropical western coasts;
  • Musson climate tropical east coasts;
  • Musson climate of a tropical plateau;
  • Musson climate of temperate latitudes.
  • Features of types of monsoon climate

  • Mussonon climate of the continental tropical is characterized by a sharp separation into a winter hopeless period and a rainy summer. The most elevated temperature here falls for the spring months, and the lowest for the winter. Such a climate is characteristic of Chad and Sudan. From the second half of autumn, there are practically no precipitation to the end of spring, the sky is cloudless, the temperature rises to 32 degrees Celsius. In summer, rainy, months, temperature, on the contrary, drops to 24-25 degrees Celsius.
  • Mussonon climate Ocean tropical is distributed on the marshal islands. Here, also, depending on the season, the direction of the air flows that bring precipitation or their absence is changing. The air temperature in the summer and winter periods changes only 2-3 degrees and on average is 25-28 degrees Celsius.
  • Mousson climate tropical western coasts is characteristic of India. The percentage of precipitation falling over the rainy period is most pronounced here. In summer, about 85% of the annual rain, and in winter, only 8% may fall. The air temperature in May is about 36 degrees, and in December only 20.
  • Musson climate tropical eastern coasts is distinguished by the longest rainy period. Almost 97% of the time here falls on the rainy season and only 3% on dry. The maximum air temperature in dry times is 29 degrees, the minimum at the end of August is 26 degrees. Such a climate for Vietnam is characteristic.
  • The monsoon climate of the tropical plateau is characteristic of the highlands, found in Peru and Bolivia. As for other types of climate, the change of arid and rainy season is familiar to him. A distinctive feature is the air temperature, it does not exceed 15-17 degrees Celsius.
  • The monsoon climate of tropical latitudes is found in the Far East, northeast of China, in northern Japan. Its formation affects: in the winter Asian anticyclone, in the summer sea air masses. The highest humidity, the temperature and the amount of rains falls for the warm months.
  • Musson in India

    Mousson climate of the regions of Eurasia

    In Eurasia, the monsoon climate is characteristic of the regions of the Far East. It is characterized by a sharp change in the direction of the winds in different seasons, which is why the number of precipitation falling sharply in different periods of the year. In winter, monsoon air masses here are from the continent to the ocean, so the frost here reaches20-27 degrees, precipitation is absent, frosty and clear weather prevails.

    In the summer months, the wind changes direction and blows from the Pacific Ocean to the mainland. Such winds bring rain clouds, and over the summer there is an average of up to 800 mm of precipitation. The temperature during this period rises to +10-20 ° C.

    In Kamchatka and the north of the Sea of Okhotsk, the monsoon climate of the tropical east coasts prevails, it is the same as in the Far East, but the colder.

    Musson climate continental subtropical is maintained from Sochi to Novorossiysk. Here, even in winter, the atmospheric column rarely drops below zero. Precipitation is evenly distributed throughout the year and can be up to 1000 mm per year.

    The influence of the monsoon climate on the development of regions in Eurasia

    The monsoon climate has its influence both on the life of the population of the regions in which it prevails and on the development of the economy, the economic activity of the whole country. So, due to adverse natural conditions, most of the Far East and Siberia has not yet been mastered and has not been settled. The most common industry there is mining.
