    It is noteworthy that these cats always keep their distance and reserve the last word. They do not like tenderness and avoid affection, unless they themselves ask for it. They don’t really like to sit on their hands, but prefer to lie next to the owner, curled up and allowing themselves to be stroked.

    Norwegian Forest Cats are calm and reserved. They are not inclined to show aggression and make hasty decisions. Cats of this breed rarely get into a fight, trying to stay away and remain neutral.

    At the same time, they have a very developed hunting instinct. Therefore, you should not expect that they will easily get along with smaller animals. Most likely, cats will wait for the opportunity to hunt. But they are great with kids.

    These cats need companionship. They do not like to be alone for a long time, they like to play, but they know the measure in everything, they do not go beyond the bounds of decency.

    Norwegian Forest Cats owners of luxurious two-layer wool. However, it does not require any special care. Brushing the animal 1-2 times a week is enough. True, during periods of seasonal molting, you will have to come to terms with the need to comb your pet’s hair every day.

    Norwegian Forest Cats are very curious. They are great climbers and jump high. Therefore, they need to be given the opportunity to throw out energy. It is good if the house is equipped with a special corner where the cat can jump and climb. It should also be borne in mind that, most likely, a cat of this breed will be happy to explore the top shelves of cabinets and racks: she jumps high, and getting there will not be a problem for her.

    Most cats are very intolerant of cold (in most cases they are totally intolerant of it). But not the Norwegian Forest Cat! She inherited from her wild ancestors a waterproof three-layer undercoat. Therefore, cats of this breed enjoy spending time outdoors and climbing trees. The ideal conditions for Norwegian Forest cats can be considered to be kept in country houses with the ability to let them out for a walk in the yard.
