Character
The Norwich Terrier is one of the smallest terriers in the world. This funny dog is actually a real professional hunter. At home, in England, he was specially bred for hunting rodents and small game. However, today the Norwich Terrier is still more often kept as a companion dog. And the dog copes with his role perfectly, he is the pride of the English cynological society.
This breed of dog was bred in East England in the 19th century, its close relative is the Norfolk Terrier animals differ only in ears. For a long time, the Norwich and Norfolk were considered one breed, until in 1964 they decided to separate them. By the way, behind the scenes, the Norwich Terrier is also called the Cambridge Terrier: these animals were very popular with students at Cambridge University.
Kind, cheerful and very perky Norwich Terriers are still popular in many countries to this day. This is not surprising, because representatives of the breed have a great character. These dogs will make their owner happy no matter what. They subtly feel the mood in the house, and the future owner can be sure that the charming Norwich Terrier will not let anyone feel sad. The dog quickly becomes attached to the family, easily finds a common language with children and is ready to support their game at any moment.
At the same time, we must not forget that the Norwich Terrier is a hunter by nature, so he requires education and respect. If the owner has no previous dog training experience, professional help may be needed. Norwich, despite their openness and sociability, can be very stubborn.
Norwich Terriers do not always get along well with other animals. Alas, the hunting instinct can interfere with friendship with guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and other rodents. There may also be problems with cats. However, it all depends on the nature of a particular dog and its upbringing. Surely there will be less problems if the puppy appears in a house where there are already other animals.
Care
Norwich Terrier the owner of a fairly thick and long coarse coat, which must be combed weekly, and in some cases 2-3 times a week. During the molting period, that is, twice a year, these dogs need a special procedure trimming, removal of dead hairs. Trimming is best done by a professional as it requires special training.

Conditions of detention
The Norwich Terrier is a dog that feels great both in the city and beyond. Of course, this mobile dog will be happy to live in a private house, but he easily gets used to the conditions of the apartment. The main thing is to take the dog for active walks and engage with it, because Norwich, like no other, loves playing games together with the owner.
