Ordinary booth photo and description, where it lives, what eats, interesting facts

Brusozuba is a fairly small animal belonging to the family of shrews. This insectivorous lives on almost all continents (except the northern ones), preferring to choose forest zones and tundra. It is among the brownopodes that you can find the smallest and most gluttonous mammals in this family there are about 7 dozen species of which almost two dozen live in Russia.

Description

From the Latin language, the name of this kind of mammals means a whisper or buzzing and it is precisely such sounds that the boobs make in the process of aggressive showdowns with each other. Well, she was named her brownendor for the reddish top of her teeth.

Appearance

These small animals are similar to ordinary mice but, unlike them, they belong to the detachment of insectivorous. And their body structure during close consideration is also significantly different from the mouse the booth has a larger head and muzzle, elongated like a flexible proboscis (this structure of the muzzle allows the booth to successfully sniff out the prey). Brurozubok has tiny and very inexpressive eyes as well as small ears, almost invisible against the background of fur.

Burozuka is a fairly small animal, and is constantly in search of food, which is vital for her. Small animals are not capable of maintaining heat, unlike larger ones, and they constantly need to feed metabolic processes that occur in a tiny body at a frantic speed. And all warmblooded are guided by the general rule the smaller the size of the body, the more food is required to maintain it.

Like a rodent, the booth is equipped with 32 teeth with very long incisors. What is interesting this animal is born with a complete set of teeth: its milk teeth are replaced in the embryo period with fullfledged permanent fangs.

The length of the bodies of this animal reaches up to 10 cm (and this is a giant boletus!), and a tiny boob does not grow more than 4 cm (excluding the tail). The entire animal ranges to 4 grams, and the length of the tail is up to 6 cm as much as possible. The tail can be both short and almost reaching the size of the body. On its sides are holes that can distinguish a musky secret with a sharp smell so the boobs are protected from predators.

Brookoli has a velvet fur of high density-at the top the animal is painted in reddish-brown-shaped shades, which allows it to disguise well, and his abdomen is bright.

What eats

A sharply developed sense of smell and very subtle hearing helps in finding a booster food (even using the effect of echolocation). The basis of its diet is animal food this is understandable, because such proteins are the most highcalorie. Brusozuba feeds on everything that can catch with his sharp, like needles, teeth. Moreover, the amount of food that the brownian consumes per day can be several times higher than the entire animal itself.

Brusozuba (for example, its appearance is a tiny boob) during the day can eat insanely number of times more than a hundred at the same time there is every half hour.

Red Book and Population

The population of various types of booths and its dimensions differs significantly. For example, for Eurasia, the most familiar (and, accordingly, numerous) is an ordinary booth with a number of about 600 individuals per hectare. Naturally, the more feed there are and are suitable places, the greater the density of the distribution of the species. The habitat of the same habitat has a small, tiny habitat and many other species. Many American boiling are also characterized by densely populated areas, which cover mainly forest and tundra zones.

There are clearly localized species of this family for example, the Caucasian boom, which lives in the forests of the Caucasus, or Kamchatka Burozuka living on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk and in Kamchatka.

In this family, it is not so often that you can find very small or rarely encountered (especially when it comes to a limited territory) species although each country boasts its rarity.

For example, in the Red Book of our country, only one type of booth a gigantic. This rodent is indeed the largest representative of a kind and is attributed to rare species that differ in low numbers. A giant boletus lives in the forests of Primorye and was found in only a few places of this territory: the Lazovsky reserve, the Kedrovka span reserve, as well as the Khanka Lake.

For boiling and its protection, not at all original measures are used, which mainly include the preservation of territories suitable for living. After all, it is important that even such a creature that lives on the verge of warmblooded possibilities could survive.

Natural enemies

A tiny little baby, badly smelling and very vicious, oddly enough, also has its own enemies:

  • small predators;
  • predator birds;
  • snakes and vipers;
  • predatory fish;
  • representatives of their own kind;
  • parasites.
  • It is interesting that when studying the ordinary boosk, more than one and a half dozen species of various parasites and helminths were found in its representatives. One individual could contain more than 500 worms.

    Usually people do not bother the brown end although sometimes they can suffer in case of masses of rodent bullying. Most often, people harm her indirectly through changes in the habitat (development, deforestation and more).

    Interesting Facts

    One entertaining fact is known about the brownend. It is connected with the fact that its smallest species live precisely where the most severe living conditions tundra, highlands, Siberia and, logic, should strive for more favorable territories. Moreover, the size of the animal can be the smaller, the less, which lives north which contradicts the rule of Bergman, according to which the size of the individuals should change from the cold in the direction. Many bums of the northern regions for the winter are able to reduce the size of their internal organs, in order to ensure a reduction in heat loss.
