This is evidenced by rock drawings, frescoes and ancient figures of dogs. This suggests that genetically it is a very strong breed;

It is believed that these dogs can treat people, and their touch with skin to the sore spot noticeably relieves pain;

Representatives of this breed almost always incomplete teeth, however, this feature does not affect the health of the animal.

Character

The Peruvian hairless dog is a calm, balanced, noble and graceful animal that is very attached to the owner and wary of strangers.

She has a rather jealous nature, so she does not get along very well with other pets, especially small ones. He treats large animals with a certain respect, and shows condescension towards cats, but will not forget to once again demonstrate his superiority and closeness to the owner.

Hardy and agile, for active people this dog will become an excellent companion that you can carry with you everywhere, and for couch potatoes it will be an excellent pet. In addition, she has a high intellect, is easy to educate and is always happy to work with her master.

Care

Representatives of this breed have no hair, and, accordingly, they do not need to be combed. However, it is recommended to wipe their skin daily with a damp towel. In the heat, you should use special moisturizers, and in the cold a protective cream and a warm suit if the pet goes outside. In addition, the dog’s skin must be protected from direct sunlight to avoid burns.

Since one of the common diseases of the Peruvian naked is intestinal complications, it is necessary to carefully monitor the dog’s diet, which should be balanced and include vitamins, minerals and other useful substances.

Conditions of detention

Special conditions for keeping these dogs are not required, but we must remember that the Peruvian hairless can only live in an apartment or in a house with warm floors, because due to the lack of wool they do not tolerate cold very well.
