The body length of the pink cap can be 71-84 cm, weight-1-1.2 kg. Gorgeous birds have a long and flat beak, a short tail, impressive fingers with claws, allowing you to walk on the bottom without obstacles. Representatives of the Ibis family have a dark gray skin color in those places where there are no feathers. The pink caps have a long neck, thanks to which they produce food in water, and the legs covered with red scales.

Lifestyle and nutrition

Pink spots live in large colonies. Animals can easily join other goleepy or waterfowl. During the day they roam in shallow water and seek food. Birds lower their beak into the water and filter the soil. As soon as the production was in the beak of the quit, it instantly closes it and, throwing her head back, swallows.

During the flight, pink spikes stretch their heads forward and line up in the airspace by long strings. When the birds sleep, they get on one leg and hide the beak in plumage. Closer to night, birds are hidden in the thickets of impenetrable swamps.

In the diet of animals there are insects, larvae, frogs and mollusks, small fish. Pink caps also do not mind enjoying plant foods, namely: aquatic plants and seeds. The birds are obtained from crustaceans, which make up most of the animal diets,. The pigments contained in seaweed also affect the color of the opera.

Pink spots find a pair and proceed to the construction of a nest. Birds build their dwellings in impassable places, most often in swamps. The female is capable of laying from 3 to 5 white eggs with brown nets. Young parents take turns doing future offspring and after 24 days the chicks appear. For a month, the cubs are in the nest, and adults feed them. The absorption of food occurs in the following way: the chick deeply sticks the head into the open mouth of the parent and takes a treat from the goiter. By the fifth week of life, kids begin to fly.
