Rajapalayams (or Polygar Borzai) from India. The history of this native of the breed has hundreds of years. However, to answer the question, what is its true age, experts, unfortunately, cannot. It is also impossible to determine the origin of the breed.
It is known that in the XVIII century, Indians used Rajapalayami as military dogs, animals even participated in wars, and in peacetime they guarded houses and farms.
By the way, the name of the breed comes from the city of the same name in Tamil-Nadu, where these dogs are especially popular.

Today Rajapalayam is considered a rare breed. It is difficult to meet a purebred individual even in her homeland. To preserve the greyhounds, the National Kinological Club of India, together with the authorities, conducts a campaign to popularize local rocks.

Care
