Red Book EagleMogelnik photo and description where it lives

The burial ground belongs to the family of hawks. Such a name was assigned an eagle in the 19th century, since most often these birds were met next to the mounds and mausoleums. Now scientists are inclined to the name of the Imperial Eagle, since these remarkable birds are called that in many European countries.

Appearance

Eagles-burlters are rather large birds endowed with wide wings. The length of their body varies in the range from 72 to 84 centimeters with a wingspan up to 215 centimeters. The maximum body weight is about 4.5 kilograms. In its appearance, the burial ground is similar to the golden eagle. But inferior to it in size and color of the plumage. The color of the burial ground is dark brown. In addition, it has quite long feathers in the crossbow area, which are painted with a yellowish tint. Shoulder feathers have whitish spots, which are also called “epaulettes”.

Adults have a black color wings with characteristic stripes at the end. Secondary flyer feathers are slightly brown, the color of which becomes grayish to the bottom. The color of the tail is black with a gray tint and marble pattern. Chicks are characterized by light plumage. The iris of adult burial grounds has a yellowish tint, and in the chicks gray.

The territory of the habitat

You can meet an eagle-burial man in northern Africa, but also not by the Eurasian continent from the territory of Spain to Transbaikalia. In Russian latitudes, he became widespread in southern Siberia and the European lane.

Prefer to populate mixed forests, as well as foreststeppes. As places for the nests, dry beans with a prevailing number of highbarreled pines are chosen, which are surrounded by open areas. They can also live in birch and oak groves.

Food

The main food of eagles-burial lines consists of small mammals. They can hunt for gophers, mice, hamsters and various birds. During the beginning of spring, burial grounds use carrion. During this time, they fly around areas where they can find dead animals. Extremely rarely eat freshwater.

During the hunt for his victim, he attacks the ground. But looks out, as a rule, at the height. Some birds can use raid.

Propagation period

Grapers of sexually possible burial grounds become only at the age of 5 years. These birds are characterized by monogamy. The educated couples have been kept together almost all their lives, including on wintering.

The propagation period is marked by the arrival of spring. Birds become extremely noisy and fussy. They begin to fly around the territory that is accompanied by loud sounds. To attract partners, males perform various movements in the air: they can take a sharp way, soar in a wave, and so on. Some females even join males, but do not make any sounds during flights.

The chosen nesting has been guarded by many years. As a rule, the arrangement of the nest occurs at an altitude of about 20 meters. They prefer oak, aspen, pine and poplar as trees for nests. All nests are on the very tops of the trees. Both parents are involved in the arrangement of places for offspring. The foot is lined with small branches of needles, bark and wool. Such a nest can reach 150 centimeters with a height of 70 centimeters.

The female is postponed about 2 eggs with an interval of several days. Eggs have white color with purple dot. If the first masonry is lost, then the second is postponed in the new nest. The period of the hatching lasts no more than 43 days. Both the female and the male are involved in this process. Hatching chicks have white swollen. The first 7 days the female does not leave the nest, while the male is busy with the search for food.

At 14 days, chicks gain the first plumage, and after a month and a half studying the flight. Having received all the necessary skills, the eagles-folows leave parental nests and fly to the winter in warm countries.

Population

At the moment, nature is subject to serious influences of human activity, which extremely negatively affects the fauna that lives in it. In connection with the widespread cutting of forests, hunting and spraying of pesticides, the number of eagles-burlters is greatly reduced. Now these representatives of birds of prey are listed in the lists of the Red Book.
