It is believed that Samoyed dogs are one of the oldest breeds. The first mention of a snow-white dog was found in the ancient Samoyedic language. Then people lived side by side with a Nenets like the ancestor of a modern Samoyed dog. Obedient animals helped people in everything: they hunted, drove people on a sleigh, grazed deer, guarded small children. Upon returning home, he brought three dogs with him. After selection, he received a fluffy, snow-white companion dog with a good-natured character. Europeans liked these animals so much that soon the breed spread throughout Europe and around the world.
Character
This is a companion dog, a true friend who does not single out one owner, but is equally devoted to all family members. For a Samoyed, the owner is the whole world. It is very important for them to be in the company, to communicate. They like to visit, to be in big companies and in crowds of people. It is worth remembering that the Samoyed Laika is not a guard or a hunter. She is very person-oriented and created to communicate with him. For service purposes, it is better to look at other breeds.
These dogs are not prone to aggression, they rarely give a voice and growl. Samoyeds are very friendly, get along well with other pets, including cats. Moreover, it does not matter whether the dog grew up with another pet or appeared in the house before him.
Since Samoyeds have blunted hunting instincts, the dog will not frantically hunt for a cat (or other small pet), but he will definitely not mind playing. These dogs have a unique property they never lose their puppy enthusiasm and love active games, regardless of their age. Therefore, even from an elderly dog it is not necessary to expect sedateness, he will still periodically behave like a puppy.
These are ideal dogs for families with small children they quickly find a common language with them, are happy to participate in all games and generally enjoy spending time with them. At the same time, dogs show amazing patience with what children can do with them.
But it is worth noting that the Samoyed dog is not an easy breed. They are very stubborn, and you should not expect obedience and unquestioning obedience from them, as, for example, from shepherd dogs. These dogs are very independent and allow themselves not only not to obey, but to contradict the owner if they think that he is wrong.
For this reason, the training of Samoyed huskies is a laborious task and requires patience from the owner. If you approach the issue with imagination, the process can go much easier. The fact is that Samoyeds have a well-developed intellect and perfectly remember commands, but getting them to carry out these commands is the main snag in training these dogs. Therefore, if this process is dressed in a playful form that is understandable and pleasant for the dog, the Samoyed will quickly turn on and happily begin to do what is required of him.
