The bronze is smooth from the red book photo and description of how it looks and where it lives

One of the most overall representatives of beetles with a body size up to 3 centimeters long.

Appearance

Smooth bronze has an oval and convex body. A distinctive feature lies in the overlap of bronze, which do not rise. The rear wings open through the special slots that are located on the side of the body. This feature of the structure allows bronzes to fly well. The head of these representatives is relatively small, very different from the width of the body and slightly tilted. Smooth bronzes have antennae that perform the function of searching individuals for propagation and food. The front paws are equipped with sharp spikes, and the overlaws are a little squeezed. The bronze bronze is smooth with its beautiful color, which has a bright green color with a characteristic metallic reflection. Some individuals can be with a bluish-honey tint. Limbs are painted green with blue tint.

Habitat and numbers

Most often, the habitat of the species of smooth bronze extends throughout Central Europe, located from the shores of France to the Caspian coast. Some populations are located in the south of Asia. The population of this bug also spread on the territory of Eurasia, in particular on the southern and central side. Quite often this species is found in the Bryansk, Voronezh and Kaliningrad regions.

As a habitat, beetles choose deciduous forests and oaks, sometimes found in gardens with dead, hollow trees.

This representative is entered in the Red Book of Eurasia and other European countries in which he meets. Smooth bronze is an extremely rare type of beetle, due to the specifics of biology and the extermination of old trees in which these beetles live. Despite the fact that the habitat of the beetle is quite wide, it is found in extremely rare and isolated cases.

Food

Smooth bronzovs begin to activate from May to September. The main food of these representatives are various wood juices. Therefore, as a rule, these insects prefer to populate places with a large number of trees that have a damaged bark, since a lot of liquid accumulates in them. In addition to juices, beetles of smooth bronze can consume gore fruits.

Office

Their eggs of the beetles of smooth bronze are laid in a tree dust. The larva that was born begins to actively replenish nutrients, eating wood. The larva can reach up to 6 centimeters of length. Limbs of larvae have no hooks, so at the time of danger it turns onto the back. Odlallya larvae are formed with the onset of the doll phase. Coconut of smooth bronzovka has two layers:

  • The outer layer with many small tubercles, formed from woody rubber;
  • even and smooth inner layer formed by the discharge of the larva itself.
  • At the doll stage, an almost formed adult bronze is in the cocoon until the shell hardened. Due to the internal texture, the overlaws of the smooth bronze get the desired shape. Most individuals are formed from August to September. These beetles multiply with a frequency of three years.
