The endangered plants of North America

There are many rare plants in North America, which are on the verge of disappearance. To save them, you need to make a lot of effort.

Agave

Arizona Agawa is a succulent that has a short stem, in some plants it is completely absent. A 10 meters in size with spicy inflorescences, has many yellow flowers. Agawa blooms beautifully once in a life, and after flowering perishes. Until the 20th century there were more than a hundred types of agaves, but today only 2 in Arizona has survived.

Hudzonia is mountainous

Another relict plant is a mountain groundson, which is rarely found in some areas of Northern Carolina, and the total number of plants does not exceed hundreds. Hudsonia is a small bush similar to heather, has yellow flowers. Some kind of accumulation of shrub can be found in Pisgash Park.

In the five states of the Northern West, one can meet the Western steppe orchid. She grows in a swampy area. The population is reduced due to fires, cattle breeding and global warming.

Succulent Nolton Pediacactus has stems 25 mm high and small pink-white flowers. This species grows in pine forests in Colorado and New Mexico. A plant of very small sizes, and its number is not installed.

Astra of Georgia has magnificent flowers. Previously, the populations have been numerous, but for more than 10 years this species has been rare and needs to be protected from extinction.
