Internal waters are called all water bodies and other water reserves located in a particular country. This can be not only rivers and lakes located in the depths of land, but also part of the sea or ocean, in the immediate vicinity of the state border.

River

The river is a stream of water, which has been moving for a long time for a certain channel. Most rivers flow constantly, but some may dry out during the hot summer period. In this case, their channel resembles a sandstone or earthen gutter, which is again filled with water with a decrease in air temperature and heavy rains.

Any river flows where there is a slope. This explains the very intricate form of some channels that constantly change the direction. The flow of water sooner or later flows into another river, or into a lake, sea, ocean.

Lake

Is a natural reservoir located in the deepening of the earth’s crust or mountain fault. The main specifics of lakes is the lack of their connection with the ocean. As a rule, the lakes are replenished either at the expense of flowing rivers, or thanks to the springs beating from the bottom. The characteristics also include a fairly stable composition of water. It is “fixed” due to the lack of significant currents and a slight influx of new waters.

Channel

The canal is called an artificial channel filled with water. Such structures are built by a person to achieve a specific goal, for example, water supply to dry areas or organizing a shorter transport route. Also, the channel can be overflow. In this case, it is used in the overflow of the main reservoir. When the water level rises above the critical, it flows through the artificial channel to another place (more often in another reservoir located below), as a result of which the probability of flooding of the coastal zone disappears.

Swamp

Dogging terrain is also an internal reservoir. It is believed that the first swamps on Earth appeared about 400 million years ago. Such reservoirs are characterized by rotting algae, a distinguished hydrogen sulfide, the presence of a large number of mosquitoes and other features

Glaciers

Glacier is a huge amount of water in an ice state. This is not a reservoir, however, also applies to internal waters. There are two types of glaciers: integumentary and mountainous. The first type is ice covering the vast area of the earth’s surface. It is common in the northern territories, for example, Greenland. The mountain glacier is characterized by a vertical orientation. This, a kind of mountain of ice. A peculiar type of mountain glacier is the icebergs. True, it is difficult to classify them to internal waters due to constant movement along the ocean.

The groundwater

Inner waters include not only reservoirs, but also underground water supplies. They are divided into many types, depending on the depth of the. Underground water storage facilities are widely used for drinking purposes, since in most cases it is very clean water, which often has a healing effect.

Sea and oceanic waters

This group includes the territory of the sea or ocean adjacent to the coastline of land within the state border of the country. Here are the bays, to which the following rule applies: it is necessary that all the banks of the bay belong to one state, and the width of the water surface is not more than 24 naval miles. Sea internal waters also include port waterquas and heavy channels for the passage of vessels.
