The water cycle is the most important process that occurs on our planet, which provides life for all living beings, ranging from small animals and plants, ending with a person. Water is necessary for existence to all organisms without exception. She takes part in many chemical, physical, biological processes. 70.8% of the Earth’s surface is covered with water, and it makes up the hydrosphere part of the biosphere. The water shell is composed of seas and oceans, rivers and lakes, swamps and groundwater, artificial ponds, as well as eternal permafrost and glaciers, gases and pairs, that is, the hydrosphere includes all water bodies that are in all three conditions (gaseous, liquid or solid ).
The value of the cycle
The value of the cycle of water in nature is very large, since due to this process the relationship and the full functioning of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and lithosphere are the relationship. Water is a source of life that gives all the living a chance of existence. It tolerates the most important elements throughout the Earth and provides a full life for all organisms.
In the warm season and under the influence of solar radiation, water begins to turn into steam, transforming into a second state (gaseous). The fluid entering the air in the form of steam is fresh, so the water of the ocean is called the “Fight Water Factory”. Rising above, pairs are found with cold air flows, from which it is converted into clouds. Quite often evaporated liquid returns to the ocean in the form of precipitation.
Scientists have introduced the concept of “a large cycle of water in nature”, some call this process world. The essence is as follows: the liquid is collected above the waters of the ocean in the form of precipitation, after which the part moves to the continents. There precipitation falls on the ground and with the help of wastewater return to the oceans. It is according to this scheme that the water is transformed from salted to fresh and vice versa. A peculiar “delivery” of water can be carried out in the presence of processes such as evaporation, condensation, precipitation, water drainage. Let us consider in more detail each stage of the cycle of water in nature:
Together, the above stages make up the water cycle in nature. The condition of the liquid is constantly changing, while thermal energy is released and absorbed. Man and animals also take part in such a complex process, absorbing water. The negative impact of mankind is caused by the development of various spheres of industry, the creation of dams, reservoirs, as well as the destruction of forests, drainage and irrigation of land.
In nature, there are also small cycle of water: continental and oceanic. The essence of the last process is the evaporation, condensation and precipitation directly into the ocean. A similar process can occur on the surface of the Earth, which is usually called a continental small cycle of water. One way or another, all precipitation, regardless of where they fell out, will certainly return to the waters of the ocean.
Since water can be liquid, solid and gaseous, the speed of movement depends on its aggregate state.
Types of the cycle of water
Three types of water cycle can be called conditionally:
Thus, the water cycle is a process as a result of which water changes the condition, is cleaned, saturated with new substances. The cycle allows all forms of life to function. Due to the fact that the water is constantly in motion, it covers the entire surface of the planet.
