Why does the wind blow on the ground a presentation for children, how to simply explain to the child

Wind is a natural phenomenon in the form of air moving through our Earth. Each of us feels a breath of wind on the body, and can observe how the wind moves the branches of the trees. The wind can be either very strong or very weak. Let’s figure out where the wind comes from and why its strength depends.

Why the wind blows?

Please note that if you open the window in a warm room, then the air from the street will fall straight into the room. And all because the movement of air is formed when the temperature in the rooms differs. Cold air seeks to block warm, and vice versa. Hence the concept of “wind”. Our sun heats the air shell of the Earth, from which part of the sunlight enters the surface. Thus, all the earth’s space is heated soil, seas and oceans, mountains and rocks. The land heats up very quickly, while the water surface of the earth remains still cold. Thus, warm air from land rises up, and cold air from the seas and oceans takes its place.

Why the force of the wind depends?

The force of wind directly depends on the temperature. The greater the difference in temperature, the higher the air speed, and thereby the wind force. The force of the wind is determined by its speed. But also a number of factors affect the power of the wind:

  • Sharp changes in air temperature in the form of cyclones or anticyclones;
  • Thunderstorms;
  • Terrain (the more relief the terrain, the faster the wind speed);
  • The presence of seas or oceans that warm up much slower, causing temperature changes.
  • What types of winds are there?

    As we have already found out, the wind can blow with different power. For each type of wind there is its name. Consider the main:

  • Storm one of the strongest winds. Often accompanied by the transfer of sand, dust or snow. Able to inflict damage, knocking down trees, shields and traffic lights;
  • Hurricane a type of storm with the largest speed;
  • Typhoon is the most destructive hurricane that can manifest itself in the Far East;
  • Breeze wind from the sea blowing on the coast;
  • One of the fastest natural phenomena is tornado.

    Tornado at the same time a terrible and beautiful sight

    As we have already found out, the winds are not taken from nowhere, the reason for their appearance is in varying degrees of heating the surface of the Earth in different regions.
